Home / 2009 - Renewal / July / Camper Kia - An Experiment 24
Experimenting with passively cooling a Kia and making it habitable during the hot summer The goal is to make it habitable to sleep inside the Kia during the heat of the day without running the engine. This will hopefully be accomplished by installing a solar-powered roof vent and putting reflective insulation in each of the windows (blocking out heat and light). A simple bed can be made out of a few boards and memory foam. I may also look into a Vornado circulator. A generator/air conditioner may be ultimately necessary, but mounting them poses an issue given the Kia's limited space.
